Student Supports
At Bearden Middle School, our entire staff is dedicated to creating an environment where students feel safe, supported, and valued, allowing them to fully engage in learning and reach their highest potential.
To meet the diverse needs of our students, we provide:
-
Licensed School Counselors – Available to support academic, social, and emotional needs.
-
School Social Worker – Assists students and families with resources and support to overcome barriers to success.
Through these supports, along with a caring and committed staff, Bearden Middle ensures that every student has the tools and encouragement needed to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Athletics, Arts, and Clubs
Bearden Middle offers a variety of after-school and extracurricular activities—including athletics, clubs, and performing arts—that give students the chance to build new skills, connect with peers, and explore personal interests.
Different from high school, middle school athletics includes both school-sponsored teams and community-based programs.

Library / Media Center
The Bearden Middle School Library is run by Shelby Graves, our school media specialist; the library serves as a vibrant hub for learning, reading, and discovery. Students can explore a wide range of books and digital resources to support both academic growth and personal interests.
In addition to the school library, many teachers maintain classroom libraries with age-appropriate books to encourage reading and build a lifelong love of literature. Together, these resources help foster a strong culture of literacy and curiosity across the school community.
Support Organization
Bearden Middle School is fortunate to have two strong parent-led organizations--the Bearden Middle School PTO and the Bearden Middle Foundation--that work together to support students, staff, and the school community by strengthening school culture, providing resources for teachers and students, and creating opportunities that help every Bruin thrive.
The PTO focuses on building community among families and staff, coordinating volunteers, and organizing events that enhance the middle school. The group plays a vital role in fostering connections and ensuring parents have a voice in supporting the school.
The Foundation provides financial support to enrich teaching and learning at Bearden Middle. Through fundraising efforts and community partnerships, the Foundation helps fund programs, resources, and school improvements that go beyond what district funding can provide.
